A giant fast-bowler, Charlie joined the county in readiness for the 2012 season after eight years at Trent Bridge, where he was a regular member of a successful Nottinghamshire side. The Cornish-born right-arm seamer uses his height and impeccable line outside off-stump to snare most of his victims. Since joining the professional cricket stage relatively late, at the age of 25, Charlie has taken more than 300 first class wickets at an average of just over thirty. His best efforts came back in 2006, when he ripped Middlesex apart, claiming 8-31, to dismiss them for a paltry 49. That particular season proved to be his most-productive as he took more than fifty-wickets. Charlie will be no stranger to the Kent faithful as he played one match on loan during the 2011 season, helping the team to victory against Essex in the opening round of LV= County Championship matches. That spell was cut short when Notts recalled him but, after signing a two-year deal at the St Lawrence Ground in September 2011, his future now lies here in Kent and his experience will be well served; both on and off the field.
