Player Biography

The right-hander originally joined Kent as one of the players that came to the Club’s aid during the COVID-stricken 169th Canterbury Cricket Week in July 2021, scoring 115 in Kent’s second innings against his former side, Sussex.

He was then a part of the Kent Spitfires side, dubbed the ‘Kent McSpitfires’, that defeated Middlesex by 77 runs at Lord’s to secure a home Quarter Final in the Spitfires’ victorious 2021 Vitality Blast season.

Finch went on to make eight appearances for Kent in 2021’s Royal London Cup, scoring 152 runs in seven innings.

In August 2022, he was once again snapped-up by Kent Spitfires to play in the Royal London Cup, & was a part of the side that lifted the trophy for the first time since 1974, beating Lancashire at Trent Bridge on 17 September.

He signed a full-time, two-year deal at the end of the 2022 season.

In 2023, he became Kent’s first-choice wicketkeeper in first-class cricket, taking the gloves and standing up to the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal & Matt Parkinson on tricky late-season pitches as Kent secured Division One status in the Championship.

In December of that year, he signed a two-year contract extension.
