The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence is located approximately a mile from the historic Cathedral City Centre of Canterbury.


  • New Dover Road Park & Ride

Situated approximately a 10–15 minute walk or a short accessible bus journey from the ground, parking is available at New Dover Road Park & Ride, operated by Canterbury City Council:

New Dover Road Park & Ride provides step-free access onto Park & Ride buses, and uses automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology. Payment is made at the car park either before or after your stay.

New Dover Road Park & Ride buses follow the same route as Stagecoach East Kent buses to and from Canterbury bus station

The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence is serviced by local bus stops heading in & out of Canterbury city centre, with National Express coach services stopping at Canterbury bus station in the city centre.

A number of buses (022, 15, 16 and 18) run from Canterbury bus station to New Dover Road (0.2 miles, 5 minute walk) and to Canterbury bus station from Old Dover Road (0.0 miles, 1 minute walk).

Frequent services are run by Stagecoach East Kent and take about 4 minutes from Canterbury bus station. All buses are low floor accessible.

  • By bicycle

Bicycles are permitted inside The Spitfire Ground, but must be locked and stored at the owner’s risk.

Bicycle locking provision is located outside the Ames-Levett Indoor School.


  • By car

From London or the North:

Join the A2 Coastbound. Continue onto the M2, and take the A2 exit to Canterbury/Dover/Channel Tnl at Junction 7. At Brenley Corner, take the exit onto Boughton Bypass/A2. Take the exit towards Canterbury/Harbledown/A28. Continue onto the A2050, and at London Rd Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Rheims Way/A2050. At St Peter’s Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Rheims Way/A290. At Wincheap Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Pin Hill/A28. At Riding Gate Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Old Dover Rd. The entrance to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence is at a crossroads – turn right into The Drive.

From Dover or the South:

Take the A258 to A2 in Guston. Follow the A2 to the A2050. Take the exit for A2050 from Dover Rd/A2 to Canterbury. At the roundabout, continue straight onto Old Dover Rd. The entrance to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence is at the second crossroads you get to – turn left into The Drive.

Please note that traffic may be congested before and after match days.

On match days, there is no one-off parking at the ground for spectators, however, there are limited accessible/Blue Badge parking spaces held in reserve at a daily rate of £15 per day – this must be booked in advance via members@kentcricket.co.uk or by calling 01227 456 886 (Opt 1).

There is step-free access to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence via the Old Dover Road entrance to the ground. A drop-off point for supporters with accessibility needs is available via the Old Dover Road vehicle entrance to the ground. Please follow directions by safety stewards at the gate.

All traffic will be held back for 30 minutes after the conclusion of Vitality Blast T20 matches to ensure clear access for pedestrians.

The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence is a cashless venue. The Kent Cricket Shop, ticket sales, and food & beverage payments at all outlets are conducted without cash during matches.


The Ames-Levett Indoor School is the winter training base for the professional staff and has been designed to cater for players of all abilities and other sports.

Free parking is available at the ground except on First XI matchdays.

The excellent facility includes five cricket nets and indoor sports facilities.

The Ames Levett Indoor School has very limited availability.

The Kent Cricket Shop is located at the Ground floor of the Colin Cowdrey Stand selling Kent Cricket merchandise, replica kits & cricket equipment.  On match days, the shop will be open from gates open until the close of play.

This season, comprehensive tours of all of The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence will take place – revealing the history and mystery of the place that Kent Cricket has called home for around 180 years.

Led by experienced & knowledgeable guides, you will visit parts that other spectators cannot always reach, and learn about the people, events & trees that have made our home so famous & well-loved.

Tours begin at 13:00 on match days, and at 11:00 on non-match days, costing £10 for adults & £5 for under-16s. Each tour will last around 60 – 90 minutes.
