172nd Canterbury Cricket Week: Details confirmed

Kent Cricket is pleased to confirm details of the 172nd Canterbury Cricket Week, in partnership with MHA, at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence later this month.

A lot of work across all areas of the Club is going into Canterbury Cricket Week to ensure that it’s a celebration of cricket in Kent across all levels, and we hope that our Festival Week will be an occasion that our Members and supporters are rightly proud of.

Kent Spitfires’ Vitality Blast match against Essex, and Kent’s Vitality County Championship match against Lancashire, form 2024’s edition of the oldest surviving cricket festival in the world.

Members are reminded that they have two complimentary guest passes to exchange for tickets, allowing friends and family to join them during our Championship match with Lancashire, to introduce them to what it’s like to be a part of the Kent Cricket Family.

To exchange these passes for tickets in advance and skip the queues, Members are able to fill out the short form below:

This offer is only available to valid 2024 Club, Century & Life Members as well as 2024 Junior & Youth Season Ticket Holders. This is not valid for T20 & Classic Six Pack Ticket Bundle Holders or the Kent Cricket Supporters’ Network. Any application that does not meet this criteria will not be accepted.


Kent Spitfires vs. Essex – Friday 21 June

Kent Spitfires vs. Essex is a part of the Vitality Blast Rivals Week, with multiple rivals in the North & South Groups facing each other under lights on Friday night, 21 June.

Expect all the thrills & spills of T20 cricket, including FREE FanKlappers, 4&6 Cards and autograph sheets ahead of our traditional player meet-and-greets at the end of the match.

Kent vs. Lancashire – 23-26 June

After Friday 21 June’s Vitality Blast ‘Battle of the Bridge’, which tickets are selling extremely quickly for, Sunday 23 June sees the beginning of the red-ball leg of Canterbury Cricket Week:

  • Day One (Sunday 23 June)

The Invicta Jazz Orchestra, who have entertained audiences for over 20 years, will be playing before the start of play and during the lunch interval at The Spitfire Ground.

There will be facepainting available between 12pm & 2pm by Floodlight Four. There will also be cricket activities for juniors will be taking place all day with the Kent Cricket Community Team.

Free NHS Health Checks will also be available to all throughout the day on the Southern Bank.

  • Day Two (Monday 24 June) – Schools’ Day Out

Over 1,650 schoolchildren from across the county will be given a free taste of County Championship cricket at our annual Schools’ Day Out.

Cricket activities for juniors will be taking place all day with the Kent Cricket Community Team.

A Tea Time Talk for Kent & Lancashire Members will take place during the Tea break in the Chiesman Pavilion, about the history of Kent v Lancashire, and of course the match between the two sides in 1906 which became one of the most iconic paintings in our sport.

  • Day Three (Tuesday 25 June)

The ‘Useless Pluckers’, a collection of musicians who play an entertaining mix of musical numbers and styles, will be playing throughout the day.

A Members’ Forum will take place inside the Ames Levett Indoor Sports Centre during the Lunch break, and a Wreath laying, in honour of the Kent cricketers that have perished in war, will take place with the Kent Cricket Supporters’ Club and the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment during the Tea interval.
