Bandara takes four wickets for the second team at the Mote

Kent’s new overseas player Malinga Bandara (pictured) took 4-59 on his first appearance for the club against Sussex at the Mote.

Batting first, the visitors declared their innings on 308-8 with Bandara the chief wicket taker. James Day was the next best with figures of 2-32. Luke Wells, son of former Kent and Sussex batsman Alan, top scored for Sussex with 112.

Kent will resume their first innings on 32-1 with Rob Ferley undefeated on 22.
