Beaumont hits 50 in WBBL semi

Kent captain Tammy Beaumont hit 50 as Adelaide Strikers bowed out in their first Women’s Big Bash League final.

Chasing 139 to win at the Adelaide Oval, the Strikers slipped to 23/6 before the Kent and England opener shepherded the tail brilliantly with her first 50 of the tournament.

The Dover-born batsman hit seven boundaries in a 45-ball half-century before being trapped LBW chasing what seemed an under-par score against the three-times finalists.
