Women's County T20

Berkshire/Lancashire v Kent (Sun, 10.30am)

Kent begin their defence of the NatWest Women’s T20 title at North Maidenhead on Sunday with a double-header against Berkshire and Lancashire.

With the World Cup approaching, Kent will be led by all-rounder Alice Davidson-Richards in the absence of captain Tammy Beaumont.

Laura Marsh is also on international duty so there will be an opportunity for one of Kent’s promising teenagers to step up.

After two wins from five matches in the Royal London County Championship, the team views the 20-over campaign as a fresh start as they bid to retain their trophy.

Kent play hosts Berkshire at 10.30am before taking on Lancashire at 1.30pm in quick succession.

Team manager Lin Martin said: “T20 is fast moving and there should be minimal dot balls when we’re batting.

“There is no time to settle in for a few overs, you have to be ready to start scoring from the get go.”

Kent squad: 19 Lottie Bryan, 17 Emily Thompson, 61 Grace Gibbs, 24 Alice Davidson-Richards (c), 32 Annabelle Richards, 10 Phoebe Franklin, 14 Lauren Griffiths, 53 Tash Farrant, 8 Charlotte Pape, 91 Chelsey Rowson, 11 Megan Belt, 15 Jodie Hobson, Sarah Kennett.
