Bodyline, Bomber Command & the Cold War

Folllowing the success of our initial series of Afternoon Tea Presentations, Kent County Cricket Club is pleased to present to Members and Supporters the following extended programme.

Afternoon tea with:

1. Steve Tindall – 30 years as aircrew in the RAF, who served on the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and is an expert on WWII history, especially the Battle of Britain and Bomber Command's campaign against Germany. Steve will be sharing his insights into Bomber Command. Tuesday 18 March, 2.30pm, the Chiesman Pavilion.

2. David Frith – Is an internationally recognised cricket writer. In 2003 he became the first author to win theCricket Society's Book of the Year award three times, and was also a finalist in theWilliam Hill Sports Book awardsfor hisBodyline Autopsy. The book also wonWisden's book of the year and, in January 2010, it wonCricketweb's award for "book of the decade. David will be sharing key aspects of the Bodyline story from the 1932 – 33 Ashes Series.Tuesday 29 April, 2.30pm, the Chiesman Pavilion.

3. Steve Tindall – 30 years as aircrew in the RAF including an extensive period during the height of the Cold War. This month Steve’s presentation will centre on key facts of the Cold War and his experience of it. Tuesday 20 May, 2.30pm, the Chiesman Pavilion.

Afternoon tea No 1 & 3 cost £8.00 to attend at which tea, coffee and scones will be served.

Our second event, with a world expert David Frith as our speaker, costs £12.50 per person with a minimum attendance of 25 required.

Timings will be 2.30pm start, presentation until 3.15pm, questions time 3.15 – 3.30pm, and then scones and tea served.
