Charlotte Edwards wins Perth Scorchers WBBL fan vote

Kent and England captain Charlotte Edwards was named the Perth Scorchers' player of the year by supporters.

The 36-year-old opener averaged 42 with the bat in the inaugural Women's Big Bash League and won more than 31 per cent of the votes in an online poll.

Edwards was the second highest scorer in the competition with 462 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 103.58.
