Clark call-up means a re-think for Kent

Friday 10th April 2009

Kent County Cricket Club has confirmed that Australian pace bowler Stuart Clark will not now be joining the Club for a 6 week spell as planned following his call up to the Australian one day squad currently touring South Africa.

Clark’s call-up came after Brett Geeves fractured his left foot during Australia’s 25-run defeat to South Africa in Cape Town on Thursday. He will arrive in South Africa on Sunday, and is likely to make his return to one-day international cricket in the fifth and final match at the Wanderers next Friday.

Kent Chief Executive, Paul Millman, said: ‘ Whilst we are delighted for the player, we are obviously very disappointed that Stuart is now unable to join us as planned.

‘We will spend the weekend assessing our options and will endeavour to have alternative arrangements in place as soon as possible.“
