Club postpones AGM

Kent Cricket can confirm that the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to take place on Monday 6th April, 2020, will be postponed due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The AGM will be rescheduled, and full details will be released and circulated to Members when confirmed.  This is a course of action permitted by the Club’s Constitution and the required 21 days’ notice will be given.

The Club recognises that many Members will have questions during this challenging time and would therefore like to invite Members to participate in an online Members’ Forum.

This will be held on Monday 6th April, 2020 at 5pm – 6:30pm and will not replace the formal 2020 AGM.

In-line with all physical Members’ Forums, this will be accessible to all Kent Cricket Members that hold a valid 2020 membership.

Kent Cricket will be represented at the online Members’ Forum by:

  • Chairman – Simon Philip
  • Treasurer – Derek Taylor
  • CEO – Simon Storey
  • Director of Cricket – Paul Downton
  • Club Captain – Sam Billings

Those with valid 2020 Memberships will receive an e-mail with joining instructions and details of how to submit questions to all five Kent Cricket representatives by Wednesday 1st April.

If any Member does not receive communication about the online forum by Thursday 2nd April, please contact the Club via members.kent@ecb.co.uk.

Kent Cricket Chairman, Simon Philip, said: “We have not taken the decision to postpone the AGM lightly and have extensively explored all options available to us.

“Our main priorities are to ensure the health and well-being of all involved, and comply with Government requirements around permitted activities.

“We felt that it was vital all of our Members had an opportunity to attend and participate at the AGM, which may not have been the case had we taken the decision to make it only accessible via an online portal. However, we are all in this together, so it is important that we have the opportunity to engage with our Members and try and provide as much clarity as we can in this ever-changing situation.

“We look forward to being able to answer any questions our Members may have at this time.”
