Club Statement: 27/01/21

The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) has today published the results of an anonymous survey completed by professional players in 2020, to understand their experiences of racism within the game. This is the first time that research of this nature has been undertaken, and demonstrates that as a Game, we are absolutely committed to tackling these issues.

Kent Cricket will not tolerate racism and stands united with the PCA, ECB and other stakeholders to ensure that there is no place for racism or discrimination of any kind in cricket.

The Club is committed to making cricket in Kent accessible to all, at every level of the game. A range of actions continue to be developed and implemented to strengthen the Club’s equality, inclusion and diversity strategy, including its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, which has been approved at General Committee level and a regularly reviewed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Framework and Action Plan to ensure commitment to a long-term change.

This encompasses all aspects of Kent Cricket, including Professional Cricket, The Academy, High Performance, Kent Women’s and Girls’ Cricket, Area Cricket and Community Programmes.

The Club fully acknowledges that as the governing body for cricket at all levels across Kent, we must continue to listen, learn and take further action, to make sure that there is no place for discrimination, allowing cricket to really be a game for everyone.
