Staying safe: Charles Stanley

“Over the past week, we have seen the lockdown extended and today I would like to highlight what’s new here at Charles Stanley to help keep you both safe and informed, as well as to give you an update on what’s been happening in the markets.

Be vigilant against fraud

“In the last few days, we have had reports that several clients have received an email from someone pretending to be from Charles Stanley.

“Fortunately, it was obvious it was a fake, but criminals are increasingly posing as official sources to obtain personal and financial details.  The City of London Police has seen the same level of cyber-criminal activity in three days that they would normally see in a month.

“Please stay vigilant and take particular care.  If the contact is unexpected and you are asked to do anything, such as click on a link or call a phone number, stop and independently verify that contact first.  Share any sensitive information through the website or call your usual Charles Stanley contact.

Charles Stanley Radio

“For useful information on the ‘Importance of Staying Vigilant Online’, you can listen to an interview with our Head of Information and Cyber Security, John Harrison on Charles Stanley Radio.

“In another episode, our research team also share their collective views on the markets.

‘Housebound’ videos

“In addition, we have some new ‘Housebound’ Facetime videos on our social media channels.  Watch interviews with our Group HR Director, Kate Griffiths-Lambeth on obstacles faced by the HR team in the current environment; later this week we catch up with Ben Money-Coutts our Chief Financial Officer.

Market update

“Although the lockdown in the UK has been extended, we are starting to see some good news as other major economies are beginning to examine how a staggered and progressive relaxation of controls might be possible in due course. Click here for our latest market commentary.

With my best wishes to you and your loved ones. Stay safe.”
