Fantastic Off-Season Deliveries By Kent ACO

Friday 10th May 2024

With the first league fixtures of the season finally underway, it is great to be able to share some excellent news from the Kent Association of Cricket Officials (KACO).

Thanks to a huge effort and commitment from the association’s tutors and officers, the 2023-24 off-season has again raised the bar for both the number of courses run and attendees trained.

While such endeavours are always a team effort, special mentions must go to the KACO Education Officer, Alan Collard, and the Association’s Scorer Officer and lead trainer, Andy Lynch, without whom this would not have been possible.

Over the winter, the association delivered:

  • 16 courses (12 scorer / 4 umpire)
  • 129 scorers received training (84 male / 45 female)
  • 79 umpires received training (73 male / 6 female)
  • 46 new scorers were trained for the first time
  • 39 new umpires were trained for the first time

Congratulations and best wishes for the season to all attendees, tutors and the KACO!

Without our scorers and umpires, there is no game and the KACO, along with the County and the ECB, are committed to recruiting, supporting, training and retaining Kent’s current and future officials.
