Chance to Compete County Winners 2024

Wednesday 12th June 2024

The Chance to Compete 2024 County Finals have now concluded, with four Kent Schools progressing through to the Regional Finals.

The Chance to Compete competition is a softball cricket competition, exclusively for state schools, giving girls with limited exposure to cricket, the chance to play.

On Tuesday 11th June, at The Mote Cricket Club in Maidstone, four U13 Girls’ teams and four U15 Girls’ teams from state schools across Kent competed. The winners and runners up from each competition had the opportunity to progress through to the Chance to Compete Regional Finals.

In beautiful weather, on the main pitch next to the clubhouse, some competitive and enjoyable cricket was played, resulting in two school teams from each age group gaining a qualification place. Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar were the U13 Girls’ Chance to Compete County Champions and Tonbridge School for Girls were the U15 Girls’ County Champions.
