ECB Core Coach Launched

The new ECB Core Coach has now launched and is now available to book, with our first courses starting in January 2022.
The Core Coach course replaces the old ECB Level 2 courses and is a point of entry for new coaches, along with the ECB Foundation I coach course, giving new coaches 2 options to start their coaching journey.

Coaches do not have to complete Foundation I before attending Core Coach Course.
Anyone wishing to further their coaching and attend the ECB Advanced Coach (Level 3) Course will need to hold a Core Coach qualification or equivalent (old level 2).
Where are they?
We have ECB Core Coach courses available in 2022 at:
- Wrotham School
- Norton Knatchbull School
- The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence
- Brompton Academy
We also have ECB Support Coach and ECB Foundation I Coach courses available for the spring.
What’s the Difference?
Both ECB Foundation I and ECB Core Coach courses qualify candidates to run sessions independently. ECB Coaching and supervision ratios still apply which can be found here.
The main difference is the commitment and cost of the courses.
Foundation I Course costs £150 (set nationally) and involves 12 hours of face-to-face modules, whereas the Core Coach course is £300 and 24 hours of face-to-face modules.
Kent Cricket recommends the Foundation I course for new club volunteers, parents, and young coaches as it will enable you to be qualified quickly and help at your club, while equipping you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to run fun, active and safe sessions.
We recommend the Core Coach course for those that wish to further their coaching, potentially looking to go on to the Advanced Coach course or coaching as a career, for new coaches that are interested in coaching in schools and clubs or coaching at higher levels such as Area or County Age groups.
