Grounds – What’s new for 2022?

Wednesday 12th January 2022

As the 2022 season appears on the horizon, it is a good time to pause and consider what can we do ‘now’, and what can we do ‘next’ to ensure that pitches are in their best possible condition.

With the ever-variable weather, these are not easy questions to answer and can be particularly hard to manage for those charged with maintaining cricket pitches. As recently reported, parts of the UK hit 16°C on New Years Day – which is a new record high. However this was quickly followed by a return to heavy frosts, which is equally confusing for the grass itself!

This week, those who are registered to receive our ‘Groundsmanship Support’ emails will have seen the first edition of 2022 arrive in their inbox. It included information on;

  1. Our upcoming Spring Workshop
  2. Guidance on appropriate winter maintenance
  3. Level 1, 2 & 3 Online courses, provided by The GMA
  4. The search for a Ransomes Mastiff seat
