Kent Cricket needs you

Soon the sounds that are the very definition of summer to so many, will make their return.

Leather on willow. Gentle applause. Calls from the field. Howzaaaaat!!

The game of cricket is growing. Women and girls especially are picking up a bat and a ball, more than ever before. With the help of the Community Team at Kent Cricket, an increasing number of cricket clubs now exist for women and girls across the county.

With this amazing growth, there inevitably comes an immense need for volunteers from clubs across Kent. We are calling for more – scorers, coaches, umpires, fixture secretaries, match managers, membership officers, first aiders, and safeguarding officers etc. to take on these voluntary roles and help enable the game to thrive at a grassroots level.

If you love the game but don’t think you have the required knowledge to help, we can train you. Have a look below at the coaching and officiating courses we run. If you’re not sure how much you can commit, there are varying opportunities to suit anyone’s available time.

The growth in women’s and girls’ cricket is bringing welcome diversity into the game, and we want to see that reflected in our volunteers. For females, those with a disability and people from diverse backgrounds, we’re proud to provide bursaries for coaching courses.

Come hear those fantastic sounds of the game with us. Get in touch and tell us how you’d like to be part of our beloved game. You can speak to your local cricket club or click here to email us.
