Langton Girls are Regional Champions

The Simon Langton Girls School have become ‘Chance to Compete’ U13 Regional Champions for 2023.

The Chance to Compete School’s Competition is a girls’ softball cricket competition in both U13 and U15 Girls’ age groups, for state secondary schools nationally. Kent Cricket ran an East and West regional cluster for each age group in term 6, leading to the County Finals hosted at The Mote Cricket Club in Maidstone. Four Kent teams then progressed to the Regional Finals hosted at The County Ground, Beckenham, Hayes School, Hundred of Hoo Academy, Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar and Highworth Girls’ Grammar all participated for the chance to make it through to the National Finals.

The Langton Girls came out on top, winning all of their matches across the day and receiving their winner’s medals from some of the South East Stars taking a break from their training. We wish them all the best for the National Finals which will be hosted sometime in September.

A huge thanks must go to all participating students and to all the venues and teachers who made these events possible.
