COVID-19 Restrictions Update

Following the Government’s announcement that COVID-19 restrictions are expected to be lifted on Monday 19 July, Kent Cricket is continuing to work with key stakeholders to ensure the safe return of spectators.

The Club continues to develop protocols and recommendations to ensure that its venues, The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence and The County Ground, Beckenham are as safe as possible for its players, staff, Members and supporters.

Within the Government update, it was confirmed that close contacts of those who test positive for COVID-19 must continue to undertake a period of self-isolation during the period up until 16 August. This means that the Club’s ‘test and trace’ requirements will remain in place until at least 16 August.

Therefore, the Club has confirmed that its current seating and ticketing requirements will remain for all four of the forthcoming Royal London Cup matches that will be played at The County Ground, Beckenham:

  • Thursday 22 July v Durham
  • Wednesday 28 July v Lancashire
  • Sunday 8 August v Hampshire Hawks
  • Thursday 12 August v Gloucestershire

Members that claim a ticket or supporters who purchase a ticket will be allocated a specific seat. Named tickets will still be required and ID checks on the gate will continue, in-line with protocols.

A full Match Day Information pack will be issued on the Kent Cricket website a minimum of 48 hours prior to each match.

Ground regulations will be similar to those that have worked successfully at Canterbury; this will mean that for the forthcoming Royal London Cup matches, it will unfortunately not be possible to bring your own seat into the ground and only assistance dogs will be admitted.

A further announcement will be released in due course for matches that will be played post-16 August, including our home Vitality Blast quarter final at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence against Birmingham Bears on 27 August.

Everyone at the Club is looking forward to safely welcoming you back and thank you for your support and understanding during a challenging period for us all.

This webpage will be updated as and when new information is available.

Chief Executive, Simon Storey, said “It is important that we ensure our venues are safe as possible for our players, staff, Members and supporters. With daily cases rising and a continuing period of “test and trace”, we will need to deal with an additional set of challenges in the coming four weeks.

“Members and supporters should be reassured that the measures that we are implementing are designed to keep everyone as safe as possible as we all learn to live with the virus during this next phase.”
