Daniel Bell-Drummond commits future to Kent Cricket

Kent Cricket is delighted to announce that Daniel Bell-Drummond has signed a three-year contract extension, which will now run until the end of the 2021 season.

The Lewisham-born batsman, who joined the Kent Cricket Academy at the age of seven, made his Kent debut in 2011 and was awarded his county cap in 2015. Since then, Bell-Drummond has amassed nearly 5,000 first class runs at 32.16 and averages an impressive 41.51 in List A cricket.

The 25 year-old also boasts a T20 batting average of 28.36 at a strike rate of 133.12, and has become an integral part of Kent Cricket’s squad across all formats.

Speaking about his contract extension, the right-hander said: “It’s a great time to be a Kent Cricketer at the moment.

“Our strong performances this season across all three formats show that we have a squad that can achieve great things. I’m delighted to commit to Kent Cricket for three more seasons as we collectively make big strides forward on and off the field.”

Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, said: “I am delighted ‘DBD’ has committed himself to Kent Cricket for the foreseeable future. We are in the process of building a squad that will compete in all formats and Daniel is an integral part of our plans.

“He has had an outstanding white ball season, and I’m also confident he can thrive in Division One of the County Championship next season and regain the form that led him to England Lions selection a couple of years ago.”
