Denly hits 50 as Dhaka clinch play-off spot

Joe Denly hit his 23rd T20 half-century as he helped Dhaka Dynamites reach the Bangladesh Premier League play-offs.
He shared the tournament’s highest stand, adding 129 in 13.1 overs with with West Indies pinch-hitter Sunil Narine (69) for the opening wicket against Rajshahi Kings.
The 31-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate hit four boundaries and two sixes, before being caught and bowled by Qazi Onik off a top edge on 154/3 in 16.2 overs.
Kieron Pollard (33 off 14b; 1×4; 4×6), Shahid Afridi (14 off 7b; 3×4) and skipper Shakib Al Hasan (13* off 6b; 1×4; 1×6) were the other double digit scorers for the winners.
Kings did not select Denly’s regular T20 opening partner Daniel Bell-Drummond in their XI.
