Dynamos Cricket programme now open

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has now opened registration for kids to sign-up for Dynamos Cricket, a new programme for 8–11-year-olds designed to encourage boys and girls to have fun, make friends and fall in love with cricket.

With outdoor cricket returning on 29 March, kids finally have the much-needed opportunity to get outside, get active, make friends and – importantly – enjoy the summer! Dynamos Cricket is the perfect opportunity to do just that, with kids due to take part in one of two 6-12-week courses running at clubs and sports centres across the country:
- During the Summer term, beginning 7 May
- Over the school holidays (Jul-Aug)
Each week, participants will develop new cricketing skills including batting, bowling and fielding, plus they will have the chance to play a fast-paced and exciting game of countdown cricket – a new format that mirrors The Hundred competition launching this summer.
The programme is complemented by the free Dynamos Cricket app which contains loads of exclusive content. Kids will be able to learn new skills, take part in interactive quizzes and unlock videos and challenges from key players from the English game.
Launched last year but postponed due to the pandemic, Dynamos Cricket is designed for children graduating from the All Stars Cricket programme for 5-8-year olds – which is also open for registration from today. Dynamos Cricket is also perfect for those who are totally new to the game.
Kent Cricket’s Head of Community, James Reid, said: “We have over 50 All Stars centres and 30 Dynamos centres up and down the county ready to book onto, and we’re looking forward to seeing as many kids as possible get involved this Summer.
