First ever Kent Twenty20 match at the Nevill Ground

Friday 19th June 2009

THE Kent Spitfires return to Twenty20 Cup action on Monday, June 22, as the Nevill Ground hosts its first ever T20 match.

A bumper crowd is anticipated for the match, against the Hampshire Hawks, at Tunbridge Wells. The game will also see the 100,000th spectator at a T20 match in Kent, since the competition started back in 2003, come through the gates.

Jamie Clifford, Director of Business Development, said: “We are expecting a bumper crowd for our first appearance in Twenty20 in Tunbridge Wells. There is still time to get tickets, but we are advising people to book their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment on the day.”

Kent will have to make do without their popular mascot, Bomber the Spitfire. Bomber is currently sunning himself in Dubai but will return home soon to help us qualify for the quarter-finals of the T20.

Tickets are still available for the game against the Hampshire Hawks and for Kent“s other home group match against the Surrey Brown Caps at Beckenham on Sunday, June 28.

The Kent Spitfires are currently third in the South Division, three points behind the leaders, Sussex Sharks. Kent have the following four matches left to play:
