Two more dates: your turn to umpire!
Wednesday 16th September 2026
One umpire course in Beckenham was a start, but Kent is quite a big place…
So we’ve added two more ECB Umpire Courses this winter, with dates in Maidstone and Canterbury for anyone looking to get trained and ready for the 2027 season.
Whether you’re thinking about helping with junior cricket, standing at your own club or taking your first steps into adult recreational umpiring, this is a practical way to get started.
Course fee: £70 per person
Beckenham
- Sunday 25 October 2026
- 10am–5pm
- The County Ground
- Beckenham, BR3 1DR
Maidstone
- Sunday 15 November 2026
- 9.30am–4pm
- Maidstone Grammar School
- Maidstone, Kent, ME15 7BT
Canterbury
- Sunday 6 December 2026
- 10am–5pm
- St Anselm’s Catholic School
- Canterbury, CT1 3EN
You don’t need any previous umpiring experience.
The course mixes practical and classroom learning, covering the things you actually need when you’re standing in the middle: managing a game, appeals and dismissals, communication, the role of the umpire and deciding whether conditions are safe for play.
There’s also up to 90 minutes of e-learning to complete beforehand.
By the time the season comes around, you could be ready to stop watching from the boundary and start standing in the middle.
Two new dates. Two new venues. Plenty of time to be ready for April!
