Women’s Softball Cricket Competitions : 2026 Summary

Sunday 27th September 2026

The Kent Women’s Softball Bash and the Kent Women’s Softball Cricket League have concluded for the 2026 season, with Linton Park Ladies, once again winning the double.

Kent Women’s Softball Cricket League Finals

On Monday 31st August Town Malling CC hosted the Kent Women’s Softball Cricket League Finals and it was an action packed day from start to end.

With 9 teams qualifying for Finals this year, we welcomed Bexleyheath CC, Borstal CC, Chestfield CC, Cowdrey CC, Hythe CC, Kemsing CC, Linton Park CC, Old Wilsonians CC and Platt CC. Each winning their respective local divisions over the summer.

The morning saw the 9 clubs split into three groups and play a round robin format to determine who would be group winners. It turned out that each group had all teams win one fixture and lose a fixture and subsequently tie on points in what was a fantastic morning of cricket. It came down to total runs scored, which resulted in a clear winner in each group, scoring at least 15 runs more than their opposition. Second and third from each group were much closer, with some a matter of just 4 or 5 runs different.

The afternoon session saw a regrouping, with three 1st place teams in the Finals Group (Borstal, Kemsing and Linton Park), 2nd place into 4th-6th place group (Bexleyheath, Old Wilsonians and Platt) and 3rd place into a 7th-9th place group (Chestfield, Cowdrey and Hythe). In the Finals group were Borstal, Kemsing and Linton Park to fight it out. Winning both their games, Linton Park reclaimed the title for the 3rd year in a row.

The group games were so tight, it was impossible to know who would end up where and the amount of great cricket on display meant no game was over until the final ball. Every team on the day should be proud of what they achieved, and it was a wonderful day celebrating women’s softball cricket. A massive thank you to Town Malling for hosting us so superbly.

Kent Women’s Softball Bash

On Sunday 13th September, the last women’s club cricket final of the calendar took place, as the Kent Women’s Softball Bash concluded at The Mote Cricket Club.

Winners from each of the four Kent Women’s Softball Bash divisions qualified for Finals Day. We welcomed Bromley Town (MET), Kemsing (WEST), Linton Park (CENTRAL) and Whitstable (EAST) to play in two semi-finals in the morning, followed by the Final and 3rd/ 4th place final.

In Semi-Final 1 we saw Bromley Town vs Linton Park and Semi-Final 2 saw Kemsing vs Whitstable. Linton Park set Bromley Town an impressive target of 181 in 20 overs, which Bromley Town were unable to chase, scoring 104 runs in 20 overs. Whitstable totalled up 145 runs in their first innings against Kemsing, with Kemsing falling just 20 runs short.

The Third/Fourth Playoff saw Kemsing and Bromley Town meet for the first time. Bromley Town batted first scoring 101 runs in their innings. working hard for their runs and never giving up. In reply, and despite some committed boundary fielding from Bromley Town, Kemsing chased it down in 9 overs, scoring 104 runs at an astounding 11.5 runs an over.

The Grand Final saw Linton Park take on Whitstable, with Linton Park batting first. The holders were restricted to 133/4 in their 20 overs, Whitstable making it hard work for them and getting some early wickets. In reply, Whitstable came out hard and fast, looking to chase the target down with 6.7 runs per over required. The first 7 overs Whitstable were ahead of target and didn’t look like slowing down, putting pressure on the Linton Park fielders with any mistake in the field a boundary. However, with two quick wickets falling in one over, it slowed Whitstable’s momentum. Whitstable finished with 102/6 from their 20 overs, meaning Linton Park won by 31 runs and defended their Bash County Title.

A huge congradulations to the four clubs who made it to the Finals Day. All teams put on a wonderful display of cricket in a great spirit. Thank you to The Mote for hosting the Finals this year. It was a great way to end the women’s outdoor season.
