Genevieve Jeer selected in England Women’s U19 T20 World Cup squad

Friday 25th September 2026

Tour/International

Kent all-rounder Genevieve Jeer has been named as part of a 15-player England Women U19s squad for their biggest ever winter programme of cricket, culminating in an ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Nepal and Bangladesh.

The homegrown right-hander, who is also a part of the Tier 1 Surrey Academy, will travel to take part in a five-match T20 series against India in November/December 2026, and at its completion, the  squad will remain in India for a further week to continue their outdoor preparations for the ICC tournament in January/February 2027.

Jeer heads to the subcontinent after winning gold at the School Games National Finals in Loughborough, with her Team Dunkley side winning in the final of the Lydia Greenway T20 Cup.

England Women U19s Head Coach Chris Guest said: “This is an exciting opportunity for this group of players who will be the best prepared squad we will have sent to the U19 Women’s World Cup.

“The aspiration as always is to win the U19 World Cup. Taking on board learnings from previous campaigns, we have gone about things slightly differently this time, ensuring that our players are getting some game time outdoors much closer to the tournament.

“The goals for the winter are dual focused. We want to win the World Cup, and we are also developing players and helping them prepare for what their career might look like in a professional environment.”

A captain will be named at a later date.
