Gidman leaves Kent to become England Women Assistant Coach

Kent Cricket can confirm that Alex Gidman has left his post of Men’s Batting Coach at the Club to become England Women’s Assistant Coach.

The former Worcestershire Head Coach joined the Club in February 2023, and was Lead Batting Coach throughout the 2023 season.

The Club is now actively recruiting for a new Lead Batting Coach, as well as a Bowling Coach following Simon Cook’s appointment as Director of Cricket.

On leaving Kent, Gidman said: “I’d like to thank everyone at the Club for making me feel so welcome during my time here, and I wish everybody associated with Kent the very best.”

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for ‘Giddo’ and he moves over to ECB with our very best wishes.

“We hope to complete our coaching line-up, led by Matt Walker, for the coming season very soon.”
