Girl’s Talent Pathway Squads announced
Tuesday 20th October 2020
Kent Cricket is pleased to announce the conclusion of the Girl’s Talent Pathway Trials for the 2020-21 cricket season.
This year’s trials have been of a different format due to the ongoing pandemic, which has resulted in the formation of a ‘match-play trials’ process. There has always been a desire at Kent Cricket to move towards including more match-play within the selection process and the current climate has encouraged us to adopt such an approach. The Girl’s Pathway Coaches were then able to observe players in realistic, game based scenarios that are hard to fully re-create during a net session indoors.
Congratulations to all of the nominated players that we have met or reengaged with across the trials. All those who attended trials deserve tremendous applause for their commitment and effort across the four weeks. Commiserations to those that were unsuccessful on this occasion, we hope that you enjoyed the experience, continue to play and develop your game and have received some useful feedback from our coaches.
Appreciation must also be shown to all of our School/Club/Area contacts who coach/support these players regularly and who encourage and nominate the girls to trial. We had a healthy number of players put forward this year and it made for some tough selections. Another thank you must go to Upchurch, The Nevill Ground, The Mote, Rainham, New Beacon School & Polo Farm for hosting our trial sessions and for being so accommodating.
Congratulations to all the selected players, we wish you all the best for the coming season and we look forward to seeing you work hard with us to develop your game but most importantly, enjoy your cricket!
