‘Horses’ pipped to the post by Surrey in first running challenge
Monday 20th April 2020

Kent Women missed out on picking up victory in the first round of their distance running challenges against Surrey Women this past weekend.
Each participating Kent Women star was given 30 minutes, taken at their best convenience across each weekend, to run as far as they could. Each player reported the distance they ran to create The Horses’ team total.
This was then be divided by the distance between Surrey and Kent’s home grounds, the Kia Oval and The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence respectively. The final results in Kent Women’s first ‘matchday’ were as follows:
- Kent Women – 86.28 km ran – 0.95 journeys between Kennington and Canterbury
- Surrey Women – 88.49 km ran – 0.97 journeys between Kennington and Canterbury
Surrey win by 2.21km.
Kent Women will contest a ‘Battle of the Bridge’ of a different kind this weekend when they take on Essex Women on 25/26 April.
