Join Min for a spin!

Wednesday 11th March 2009

FOLLOWING the success of the recent wicket-keeping skills courses, Kent County Cricket Club is to stage specialist spin bowling courses during the Easter holidays. Leading the courses will be former Kent spinners Min Patel and Darren Scott.

Those attending will train as the professionals do with coaches dedicated to improving techniques and skills with the ultimate aim of improving match day performances. The courses will allow bowlers to learn and fine tune all techniques and skills needed to become a top class spin bowler!

Day 1 will be devoted to techniques, tactics and skills required for four day cricket, with Day 2 set aside for techniques, tactics and skills required in the one day game.

Courses will deal with all aspects of spin bowling from basic grips to the most advanced skills.

Former Kent and England spin bowler Min Patel (pictured) commented: ’Learning the art of spin bowling is not something that happens overnight. I hope to pass on some of the skills, techniques and experiences that made me successful on the cricket field to any young aspiring spinners willing to learn and work on these coaching courses.’

The courses are being held on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 April and cost £30 or one day, and £50 for both days.
