Jones loan signing confirmed

KENT County Cricket Club has confirmed the loan signing of Somerset medium fast bowler Steffan Jones. The 35 year old Jones will go straight into the Kent squad to face Northants on Tuesday.

The signing is for one month although Somerset will be able to recall Jones at anytime during the loan period. Jones will also not be eligible to play in the Friends Provident Trophy matches between the two teams at Taunton on 26 April, and the return game at Canterbury on 16 May.

Kent found it necessary to enter the loan market following injuries to key bowlers including Amjad Khan, and the cancellation of the contract that would have seen Australian Stuart Clark in Kent colours for the first 6 weeks of the season.
