Thursday 29th October 2009

Kent fast-bowler Rob Joseph (pictured) will begin light training next week following an operation on a torn right shoulder.

The 28-year-old missed the latter half of the 2009 season after suffering the injury fielding against Surrey in the Twenty20 Cup in July.

Surgeon Andrew Wallace from St John & St Elizabeth Hospital, near Lord“s, is 95% certain that Joseph will make a full recovery.

Commenting on the injury, Rob said: "The shoulder is good. It was extremely painful for the first few days after the operation but it is now feeling much better and I“m at a stage where I can start rolling my arm over again. I will start running next week and cannot wait to start bowling again.”
