Kent Academy duo feature as London & East win Regional Festival

KENT Academy duo Daniel Bell-Drummond and Fabian Cowdrey had a reason to celebrate this week as the London & East U16’s won the inaugural ECB U16 Regional Festival. The promising youngsters helped London & East to three wins out of three at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough.

Here are the results from their three matches:

Monday 17 August – London and East (167-1) beat Midlands (166) by nine Wickets (Brockington)
Wednesday 19 August – London and East (243-2) beat North (239-6) by eight Wickets (Brockington)
Thursday 20 August – London and East (272-8) beat South and West (172) by 100 Runs (Haslegrave)

The Team were presented with the Terry Bates Memorial Shield, on behalf of the Bates family, by Terry’s daughter Lisa.

Commenting on the triumph, Kent Academy Director, Phil Relf, said: “These two continue to impress and have made some significant contributions to the County under-17 team this summer. The overall win was great and now these two players need to dominate at regional level so that they cement places in full ECB representative teams.”
