Kent appoint new commercial director

Kent County Cricket Club has appointed Pat Mellsop (pictured)as commercial director. He will be responsible for Kent’s sales, commercial and marketing activities.

Mr Mellsop takes on the new role, having previously been head of marketing at Waikato Rugby Union & Chiefs Super 14 Franchise in New Zealand.

Jamie Clifford, chief executive officer at Kent County Cricket Club, said: "I am pleased to introduce Pat as our new commercial director. He emerged from an extremely strong field of candidates and has a great deal of experience, gained over 12 years at Waikato, and this will be invaluable to Kent County Cricket Club. We take our commercial activities very seriously and this appointment is a further sign of that.”

Pat Mellsop added: “I“m pleased to be joining Kent and see it as a really exciting challenge. I gained my experience at the highest level of the New Zealand sports industry and played a pivotal role in growing the Waikato Rugby Union and Chiefs Super 14 Franchise into the successful organisations they are today. Having spent 12 very fulfilling years with Waikato, I am ready for a career change and believe that Kent County Cricket Club will provide me with the challenge that I am looking for.”
