Kent Cricket confirms signing of Calum Haggett

Tuesday 5th March 2013

Kent County Cricket Club are pleased to confirm the signing of 22-year-old all-rounder Calum Haggett.
Somerset born Haggett, who attended Millfield School, spent the final two months of the 2012 season playing in Kent’s second eleven team and has previously played for England Under 19s and Somerset.
Kent Cricket Head Coach, Jimmy Adams who recently signed a two year contract with the Club, commented; “A large part of what we’re trying to do here at Kent is to develop first-class players and we are keen to watch our talented young players grow, and them getting the opportunity to play is part of that. Players that age can go as far as they want – I'm very happy with his signing."
Kent Cricket High Performance Director, Simon Willis commented on the signing; “Calum has impressed with consistent performances for the second eleven last summer, finishing the season, with a major contribution against Leicestershire with both bat and ball.“
Haggett is currently in South Africa, but will return to the UK later this week and resume training with the Kent Cricket squad. Commenting on his contract at Kent Cricket, he said; “I am really excited and looking forward to playing for Kent, and I hope that I can make a contribution to what hopefully will be a very successful season for the Club.”
