Kent League round-up

Kent’s teenage wicketkeeper Jordan Cox top scored for Sandwich in their away Kent League Premier Division match with Tunbridge Wells at the Nevill Ground along with first-team teammate Grant Stewart.

Cox hit 67 and Stewart 31 in a third wicket partnership of 63 as Sandwich reached 237 for 9 from their 50 overs. Tunbridge Wells ran out winners by four wickets reaching 238 for 6. Kent all-rounder Stewart, returning from injury conceded 38 runs in 10 overs.

Kent spinner Adam Riley captained Bexley to victory away to local rivals Beckenham, contributing a fine spell of bowling taking 1 for 20 in 10 tidy overs  as the home side could only reach 168 for 8 from their 50 overs replying to Bexley’s 192 for 9 to give the visitors a 24 run victory.

Young 17-year-old Kent Academy scholar Isaac Dilkes took 4 for 18 with his leg spin for Canterbury in their victory over HSBC, who were bowled out for 171, by three wickets. Canterbury had scored 172 for 7 from 45. 3 overs in their innings.

Lordswood were two wicket winners over Sevenoaks Vine who were all out for 205 and the visitors reached their target with two balls to spare finishing on 206/8.

Last seasons champions Blackheath suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Bickley Park who scored 324/4 and the shot Blackheath out for 126 in 26.1 overs. All rounder Daniel Magin hit 89 for  Bickley and then took 5 for 23.
