Kent name squad for two-day friendly v Surrey

Kent have named a 14-man squad for a two-day friendly against oldest rivals Surrey at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Sunday (2 April, 11am, free entry).

Daniel Bell-Drummond, Matt Coles and Sam Northeast return for the final pre-season match before the Specsavers County Championship begins on Friday.

Bell-Drummond and Northeast return to red-ball action after the North v South series in the UAE last month and Coles make his first appearance since undergoing an operation to remove a varicose vein.

Joe Weatherley could play his first match for Kent as Joe Denly is rested after a century against Leeds-Bradford MCCU as the squad is rotated.

The teams are likely to play different sides on each day of the two-day match ahead of the opening match against Gloucestershire at The Spitfire Ground next week.

Entry to the friendly match is free as is parking at the ground. The Lime Tree Café and the Spitfire Bar in the Les Ames Stand will be open and serving food and refreshments.
