Kent Cricket opening batsman, Joe Denly, returns to County Championship cricket tomorrow, in the Club’s home match against Derbyshire. Denly broke his thumb fielding in the Gloucestershire fixture on 26 April. In that match he was the eleventh batter in the County’s second innings, ending seven not out, as they fought to set Gloucestershire a target beyond their reach. Sadly not achieved. Denly first match back was in the CB40 fixture against Sussex on Sunday.

Young Kent fast bowler Ashley Shaw makes his LV= County Championship debut in the match. Director of Cricket Paul Farbrace noted that, ‘your first Championship match is always special. it is great to have Ashley achieve this milestone tomorrow.’
