Kent players in Kent League action

Two Kent stars, Alex Blake and Sean Dickson played for their Kent League clubs at the weekend and both finished on the winning side.

Blake scored 26 and took one wicket for 19 runs in 10 overs for Beckenham as they beat Tunbridge Wells by the D/L method in a rain affected match which ended after 8pm because of bad light with five overs remaining.

Tunbridge Wells scored 235/5 and Beckenham, on a revised score, were 196/3 when the match ended.

Dickson scored nine opening the innings for Lordswood who gained a surprise victory over last season’s Premier Division champions Blackheath in a match also affected by the weather.

Blackheath scored 163/9 and Lordswood won the match reaching 168/6.

The full Kent Premier League programme starts on Saturday with all the teams in action, including newly promoted Canterbury who have a local derby away to Sandwich.
