Kent sign all-rounder Arlene Kelly

Kent Women have signed New Zealander Arlene Kelly as their overseas player for the 2018 season.

The 24-year-old all-rounder has won two domestic one-day titles and the T20 title with her hometown club Auckland Hearts.

2018 Memberships include entry to all Kent Women’s home matches >

The seamer has taken 58 wickets in her career to date and Kelly is hoping to use her spell at Kent as a springboard for international honours.

The right-hander said: “I’m really looking forward to getting involved.

“I’ve heard good things about county cricket and I know New Zealand players like Suzie Bates and Erin Bermingham had successful seasons at Kent so I hope I can contribute to winning games.

“It’s my dream to play international cricket so it will be great to experience training and playing in a new environment and different conditions.”

Kent Women play a warm-up match against Surrey on Sunday (22 April) at Lordswood CC (11am, free entry) before welcoming Yorkshire and Lancashire to The County Ground, Beckenham on Sunday 6 May and Bank Holiday Monday 7 May (11am start).

Entry to Royal London Women’s County Championship and Vitality Women’s T20 Blast home matches are included in all Kent Memberships and free to under 16s and Canterbury Christ Church University staff and students. Tickets cost £5 for adult non-members.
