Kent squad to take on Loughborough MCCU

Friday 10th April 2015

Men’s First Team

Kent have named a 13-man squad to play Loughborough MCCU in a three-day match at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, starting on Sunday.

Entrance and parking is free for all spectators as Kent play their final game before the LV= County Championship gets under way with a trip to Essex next Sunday.

Kent outscored Hampshire in a two-day match this week and the squad is in bouyant mood ahead of the new season.

Head coach Jimmy Adams said: “Pre-season has gone really well and the lads cannot wait to get out and play at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence this weekend. There’s no substitute for competitive cricket in the middle.

“There’s a real buzz about the place and the return of Matt and Joe is a big boost for the club.

“It’s free entry for all three days so I’m hoping all the sun keeps shining and we get a good crowd to support us.”

Squad: 4 Robert Key (captain), 23 Daniel Bell-Drummond, 6 Joe Denly, 40 Brendan Nash, 17 Sam Northeast, 3 Darren Stevens, 20 Sam Billings, 26 Matt Coles, 8 Mitch Claydon, 33 Adam Riley, 18 David Griffiths, 14 Matt Hunn, 5 Ivan Thomas.

Play is scheduled to start at 11am on all three days. Parking is free and the Lime Tree Cafe is open serving food and drink.

The Chiesman Pavilion will be open to the public for this fixture only – members should display your membership card for discounts on drinks.

The Cornwallis Room in the Colin Cowdrey Stand is open for viewing but no food and drink is available.
