Men’s First Team

A frustrating day at The Nevill, with rain delaying play for three hours. The match finally commenced at 5.58pm, limited to 5 overs per side. Kent won the toss and chose to field.

Michael Lumb and Jimmy Adams made an impressive 67 for the first wicket, scoring 56 off two overs. Adams hit three consecutive sixes off Simon Cook and then Lumb manage four sixes in a row off Adam Ball, before being bowled in the same over for 35. Hampshire posted 78-1, with Adams ending on 33 not out.

Kent stuck to their established batting order, but lost Rob Key and Joe Denly inside two overs with 11 between them. A gutsy effort from Darren Stevens followed, with Stevensmaking an unbeaten 45 off 16 balls. Kent ended their innings at 58-2,losing by 20 runs.

Ticket update: Sunday 5th June

The Club would like to thank all the supporters who came to The Nevill on Sunday. It is a shame that the weather sometimes leads to a frustrating afternoon, but at least some cricket was played in the end.

Mindful that many left The Nevill beforeSunday's match, and as a goodwill gesture, Kent Cricket would like to offer a complimentary ticket to anybody who had a ticket for Sunday's fixture.

Simply send your ticket to the Club with a request for a day of cricket of your choosing* (this can be any fixture – CB40, FLt20 or LV=CC).
