Kent Women claim ‘Battle of the Bridge’ bragging rights

After an opening weekend defeat to Surrey, Kent Women bounced back with a win over rivals Essex in the second distance running challenge between the south eastern counties.

Each participating Kent Women star ran for as far as they could for for 30 minutes. Each player reported the distance they ran to create The Horses’ team total.

This was then be divided by the distance between Kent and Essex’s home grounds, The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence and The CloudFM County Ground, Chelmsford respectively. The final results in Kent Women’s ‘matchday’ were as follows:

  • Kent Women: 83.12km ran
  • Essex Women: 77.72km ran

Kent Women win by 5.4km and leapfrog Surrey into second place – with the highest average run per kilometre.

The Horses will take on current leaders Middlesex in the third weekend of match-ups from this Saturday.
