Kent Women take on rivals Surrey in the London 2K Challenge Final

After an opening weekend victory over rivals Essex, the Kent Women are looking to clinch another running title this weekend in the virtual ‘London 2K Challenge.’

The Kent Women recently claimed victory in the longer ‘London Championship Cup’ and will be looking to emulate their success in this weekend’s condensed 2K version.

They will take on old rivals Surrey in the final, where each squad member will once again complete the 2-kilometre distance flat out, to try and achieve the quickest combined time.

The team will be led by captain Tammy Beaumont and joined by guest star Zak Crawley in their pursuit for victory.

Kent Women’s Head Coach, David Hathrill said “The team were outstanding last weekend, with some really quick times and it shows how much work the girls are putting in to their individual training, to be ready for when cricket returns. Hopefully, we can keep on putting in good performances and beat rivals Surrey this weekend.”

Meanwhile, Middlesex will take on Essex to compete for third place in the cup.

Make sure you keep an eye out for the Kent Women’s progress on the club’s social media pages next week to see the results of the final.
