Kent Young Cricketers

Wednesday 22nd June 2011

Following a full winter of indoor training, Kent Young Cricketers are in action again this year. Results and performances can be followed on the Kent Cricket Board website: There are a range of age groups for both boys and girls, ranging from Under 11 up to Under 17s, with the older age groups taking part inthe ECB county age group (CAG) competitions and the younger age groups having a full programme of friendlies and practice sessions. The season will be rounded off with teams entered into various festivals where they will compete against counties teams from all around the country.

All the age group teams are aiming to build on the success they achieved last year in both the boys and girls competitions. Highlights included the U17 boys being ECB CAG Cup Winners, having won both forms of thenational competition in the previous year. Both the U12 and U13 boys teams won the Taunton Festival, with the U13s also winning the ECB U13 CAG competition. The U13, U15 and U17 girls teams were all ECB CAG winners which was a remarkable achievement.
