Khan close to first-team return

KENT fast bowler Amjad Khan (pictured) is close to a first-team return after continuing his rehabilitation in the ongoing second eleven game against Yorkshire at Beckenham. The England international in recovering from a knee injury and could be in contention for the upcoming festival matches at Tunbridge Wells and Beckenham – if he comes through this latest game.

No play was possible today so Yorkshire go into the final day on 390 for six – a lead of 234 over a combined Kent and Northants side. Khan has gone for 46 from his 14 overs, bowling three maidens in the process.

Kent/Northants were dismissed on the first day for just 156 with spinner Charlie Hemphrey hitting 52. Khan showed his qualities with the bat, contributing a knock of 40.
