Khan on the mend

Tuesday 5th May 2009

KENT and England fast-bowler Amjad Khan has received some positive news as he continues to recover from cartilage damage to his knee. The 28-year-old visited leading knee consultant Andrew Williams in London last week and Mr Williams declared himself pleased with how things are progressing.

Khan will start running at the end of next week and, providing everything goes okay, could be bowling two weeks later.

On his return from injury, the Danish-born right-armer will follow a stringent bowling programme set out by Kevin Shine, the ECB medical team and Kent physio Nimmo Reid.
