Members of Kent’s Women’s County Championship winning squad featured in the latest rounds of Kia Super League matches over the past week.
Kent captain Tammy Beaumont and T20 skipper Tash Farrant both played for Southern Vipers, as they beat Loughborough Lightning by 2-wickets, and then were defeated by Western Storm by 3-wickets. Vipers captain Beaumont scored 37 against the Storm, and Farrant finished with figures of 3-23 in the defeat.
Horses and England batter Fran Wilson made 54 for the Western Storm against Lancashire Thunder at Taunton, before hitting 40 against the Southern Vipers to help secure a dramatic victory off the last ball. She could, however, only muster 3 against Loughborough Lightning. The Storm still won that game convincingly by 40-runs.
All-rounder Laura Marsh picked up the wicket of Emma Lamb as Surrey Stars dismantled the Thunder’s batting attack. Lancashire scored 120-7, as Surrey won by 8-wickets, finishing 124-2 off 14.2 overs.
Alice Davidson-Richards scored 27 for the Yorskshire Diamonds as they lost to Loughborough Lightning, and picked up 2-25 as they bounced back to beat Lancashire Thunder by 9-runs on Tuesday.
