It was a rain affected third day at Grace Road, with Leicestershire resuming on 148 for 5. Only 22.4 overs were possible during the day but Leicestershire were able to extend their lead past 265.
Tom New struck an unbeaten 51, assisted by 17 year old Shiv Thakor, who made 24 during their 79 run stand. The players were on and off the field during the afternoon, with rain eventually forcing an early close, with Leicestershire 227 for 5.
